At a very early age Norma developed a love to draw and would spend countless hours on her artwork. She attended her first watercolour course in 1984 and was immediately drawn to this medium and devoted a great deal of spare time to painting.
In 1999 she held her first solo exhibition in Ottawa, Ontario. She then moved to Montreal with her husband and two sons in 2000 and is now a resident of Beaconsfield, Quebec where she paints from her home studio.
She has participated in several juried exhibitions and has been the recipient of several awards for her work. Norma is an elected member of the SCA (La société canadienne de l’aquarelle), the LAA (Lakeshore Association of Artists) and the CSPWC (Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour). Norma has been a watercolour instructor for several years and enjoys sharing her knowledge with others. She has also sold her work internationally.
Whether she paints her well-known tangled gardens, street scenes of Montreal, or any of her other subjects, Norma seeks to captivate her audience and draw the viewer into the painting through the richness and purity of colour, shape and light. |
