I take the train from Beaconsfield into the city of Montreal. I am going to be a tourist in my own city today.
I pick a neighbourhood to explore….a little town within the city. I discover little café’s, bookshops and restaurants. Walking the streets gives me a sense of connection, a sense of space, from the shape and colour of the buildings, to the sounds of the city. The tree lined streets, beautiful old homes finely crafted by the hands of men. I long to see them nurtured and restored. I am inspired!
When you look at my watercolour paintings you may notice the “artistic license” that I have taken….I renovate many of these homes in my paintings!
Be a tourist in your own city.
Make time for yourself and explore.
